Modder CaptRobau has released the first beta version of his HD Texture Pack that aims to provide a HD remastered version of Final Fantasy 7.
Final Fantasy Vii Hd Mod Mod Uses AIAs you may have guessed, this mod uses AI neural networks in order to improve the games blurry backgrounds and the results are great.
According to the modder, these AI enhancements make the backgrounds look much higher resolution than before (400 larger than before), helping the game look good even in 2019. In other words, this is the remaster that most of you have been looking forward to as it retains the atmosphere and gameplay mechanics of the original game. CaptRobau claimed that this texture pack covers the entire game, though he hasnt yet had a chance to check every nook and cranny of the game, I cant guarantee that Ive squashed all bugs or graphical imperfections. This is why this release is labelled as beta and newer version will fix any imperfections or glitches. This Texture Pack is compatible with all the PC releases of Final Fantasy VII, meaning that it works with the original 97 disc release, the 2012 Square Enix Store version, as well as the most recent 2013 Steam version.
